A Halloween Makeup Look – Maleficent Inspired

Need a Halloween Makeup Look? Try This Maleficent Inspired Tutorial

Do you have your Halloween plans yet? Let’s hear them! Halloween might be a little different for a lot of us in 2020. To help things feel more normal this year, I want to share one of my favorite Halloween makeup looks, Maleficent inspired. My girls and I love this movie so I had to recreate this look.

I loved putting a boho spin on this Maleficent makeup and hair! Try it on your kids or on yourself and have fun with it. I used my real hair with some temporary color spray to create these massive horns, but you can make this more witchy and less boho with a black wig or extensions.

To give yourself some Maleficent horns, I suggest creating a base with a headband, tinfoil, and electrical tape. This base makes it so much easier to keep your hair in place. Feel free to play around with this. You can add ribbons and leaves or braids like I did.

When it comes to Maleficent makeup, you definitely want to play up your contouring. To get her dramatic cheekbones, go heavy on the contour and a ghostly powder. For the eyes, it’s all about bold, dark eyeliner, and don’t forget those deep red lips.  If you’re looking for something bold, but you want the freedom to create your own Halloween makeup look, check out my Cut Crease and False Lashes Tutorial and start there!
