A casual SMOKEY eye with ⭐️Emerald City⭐️
I thought it would be fun to show you a casual smokey eye look that you can wear in everyday normal life. It can still be a beautiful smokey eye without all the drama and prom night craziness. If you want any of the makeup I’m using in this video, you can shop it here!
I have my highlight and contour on in this video. It’s a little different from traditional makeup coverage because your highlight and contour both have coverage and they work together to create a dimensional foundation look. The darker highlight I use balances any deepness or redness while the lighter highlight is to brighten and transition to your neck better. To find the best foundation colors for your face, send a photo here and I can get you color matched.
Creating the Perfect Eyeshadow Base
I like to start on my eyes by creating a base with my darker highlight color. Then with my setting spray and perfector sponge, I will absorb any excess oil and set it with a light layer of my setting powder.
Using this soft muted and light shadow Rome below my eyebrows and the inner corner of my eye to bring in light and brightness, which catches the light and looks especially pretty with a smokey eye.
Then with one of my favorite eyeshadows, Bright Eyes — a mid-tone, metallic brown color — I’m going to add it to the inner crease of my eyes. You want to make sure that your eyeshadow is never dropping from the line of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. For this smokey eye look, you want your shadow to pull up and out and you can line your brush up with your nose to the outer corner of your eye to get a better outline.
Blending is Key with a Smokey Eye
With a shimmery, deep green finish Emerald city is a cool way to create a more casual smokey eye. It gives you a subtle glam for every day without all the drama. You can do this with any tone, but I thought it would be fun to try a green look. for a casual smokey eye, you really want to use your highlight pigmented color to accentuate your eyeliner.
Check out the rest of the video for tips on getting the perfect liner with one of my favorite liquid eyeliners. I’ll show you a cool hack to keep eyeshadow from falling on your cheekbones. I’ll walk you step-by-step on how to blend this layered eyeshadow look or how you could turn it into a more dramatic smokey eye.
